Young European Bar Camp
Do you want to meet other young Europeans without having to get on a plane? Would you like to spend an afternoon with people from across the continent, discussing European topics and chatting about anything and everything Europe-related? If this sounds right up your alley and you’re between 15-25 (or work with people who are), then our international online event is for you!
The Young European BarCamp is jointly organized by the Protestant Academy Frankfurt and the Young European Federalists Hesse, two non-profit organisations from the region of Hesse in Germany.
One of the key features of a BarCamp is its open and informal structure, which puts the participants in the driver’s seat and gives them the opportunity to shape the programme themselves. Anyone who wants can offer a so-called session of 45 minutes on a topic they find interesting – alone or together with other participants. What your session looks like is up to you – various formats are possible. You can discuss a film clip, organize a workshop, invite a politician or an external speaker, host a debate or a poetry slam. You can also get creative and come up with an artistic programme, play a game, or organize speed networking. Whatever you’re curious about or interested in, it’s worth making a session about! There are already many great ideas being proposed.
Much like at a European street food festival, everyone can then put together their own individual programme by choosing their favourite appetisers from the wide array of sessions on offer.
You can participate in the BarCamp as an individual or as a group of up to 10 people, so for example together with people from your school, university or organisation. The online event is open to all young people up to 25 living anywhere in Europe. Maybe the BarCamp could be a great opportunity for you to reconnect with friends or acquaintances from other European countries? Or to re-establish contact with partner organisations or institutions?
So go ahead and join us for an afternoon of engaging discussions, new insights and fun activities on all things Europe!
